OrganKits project concludes with four Teacher Focus-Groups across partner countries
The OrganKits project has successfully concluded with focus groups in Italy, Spain, Greece, and Turkey, where 14 teachers shared their classroom experiences using plastinated organ kits.
Each session gathered teachers who had implemented the kits in diverse subjects and educational contexts, with the aim of collecting rich qualitative insights, grounded in first-hand experience, into the impact of the materials on both teaching and learning.
Teachers unanimously praised the kits as innovative resources that helped students better understand complex biological processes while boosting curiosity and motivation among students.

Highlights from the focus groups include:
- Boosted engagement: In Greece, even the lowest-performing students showed renewed interest.
- Interdisciplinary learning: In Turkey, the kits connected Science with Art, Literature, and Music.
- Emotional connection: In Spain, emotional focus and connection with personal experiences were also key to awakening motivation
- Creativity and play: Italian educators valued experimentation as a driver of learning.
Beyond improving understanding of anatomy, the project also sparked student interest in Science-related careers, particularly Medicine and Veterinary studies.
The final conclussions underscore the transformative potential of plastinated organ kits, not only as a teaching tool but also as a catalyst for rethinking how STEAM disciplines are taught across Europe.
