Breaking Ground in Education: At Duca Abruzzi School Leads with Innovation, Collaboration, and Cutting-Edge Learning
OrganKits project has reached a major milestone, with all participating schools and organizations receiving their new shipment of plastinated anatomical kits for the 2024/2025 academic year. These kits, designed to enhance hands-on STEAM education, are now being distributed across partner institutions in Spain, Italy, Greece, and Turkey. This marks the beginning of the second implementation cycle, bringing innovative, interdisciplinary learning to classrooms across Europe.
During this second phase, the partners will test and refine the kits in real classroom settings. Students will engage in thematic projects such as “Cardiohealth & Emotions” and “Neurohealth & Mindfulness,” using the plastinates to understand anatomy while tackling broader topics like mental health and sustainability.
Teachers and students alike are eager to embrace the new kits. “With the OrganKits, we’re not just teaching biology—we’re fostering curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking,” shared one teacher from IES Miguel de Cervantes.
The impact of the project extends beyond individual classrooms. By integrating local and international perspectives, the OrganKits initiative creates a rich tapestry of cultural and scientific learning that promises to inspire the next generation of innovators.
As the second cycle unfolds, the results from this implementation phase will shape the project’s final outputs, including teacher training programs and plans for scaling the initiative across more schools and educational institutions.
The OrganKits project showcases how innovation, collaboration, and shared vision can transform education, offering students across Europe an exciting, hands-on way to learn about science and the world around them.
